No Evil

No Evil

Oil on Canvas
50cm x 100cm

The classic Japanese pictorial maxim of the three wise monkeys is well known and seen all over Asia and the rest of the world. The saying goes “speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil.” This is a modern retelling of the same idea using objects of technology that we use for these same things.

Paintings for Upcoming Art Canton

These paintings have all been done in Guangzhou China over the last few months. It feels great to be getting back into painting with oils. I truly love this medium. Furthermore, I am really enjoying exploring more ways to mix geometric patterns and shapes with natural forms and mixing realism with more surrealist subjects. Without showing any disrespect to Picasso, I fancy my work as a sort of “Neocubism” but I’m still experimenting with different ways to use the geometric theme that’s been apparent in many of my paintings. I’d love to hear what people think in the comment section.

Additionally! If anyone is in Guangzhou, China or somewhere near it, then you can see all these in person at the upcoming Art Canton Fair 2018 this November 16th-19th. I have a booth and would love to meet some people. I will be sure to take many pictures to post on here for others to see. Cheers!

‘MEET@’ Exhibition in Taiyuan, China 2018

This was my first exhibition in China and it was a total blast! It was so fun getting to meet so many other artists from around the world but living in China. It was a great experience to meet many influential people in the China art scene as well. Thank you so much to Mr. Yao, the owner of the Watson Garden Art Museum in Taiyuan for inviting us all and showing around the beautiful and ancient city. I definitely want to go back and I highly recommend people go to visit it. Also, a big thanks to Mr. Wu, Tracy, Teenie, and all other members of Art Canton for setting me up with this show. Looking forward to the upcoming Art Canton Fair in Guangzhou coming up this November 16th-19th.
